I LOVE MAKING AN ART OBJECT TO HOLD IN YOUR HAND

I’m a Boise public artist and graphic designer. And I also make little buildings in miniature. Lots of them.

I’m drawn to humble, unpretentious buildings to document and remember. I like to think that creating their likeness in miniature elevates their story.

My work in miniature includes historic buildings and residences, along with farmhouses, cottages, and little funky treehouses from my imagination.

I draw each building digitally, and this is usually the most time-consuming part of the process. I save the files as pdfs and send them via the cloud to my beloved Glowforge printer to laser-cut materials, usually birch plywood and chipboard. I also cut some sections by hand. After gluing everything together, I hand paint each building and add my signature. Each one is a little labor of love and often difficult for me to part with when I’m finished.

I have a Bachelor of Architecture and have loved miniatures and dollhouses since I was very small.

If you’re interested in a custom building commission, fill out a commission worksheet and let’s talk!

In my studio practice over the last two decades I’ve also created large public artworks, interpretive signage, dozens of logos and illustrations, and various hand lettering projects. If you’re interested, check out my main website at StephanieInman.com
